FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS DURING CLUB SEASON:
1. Do I need to purchase spandex? A: You are welcome to purchase any black spandex shorts that you have. If you need to purchase shorts, they need to be ordered and paid for by November 29th.
2. Who takes care of hotel reservations for regionals? A: Your parent rep is responsible to setup these reservations and to requisition a check from the Treasurer to pay for the coaches room.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS PRIOR TO START OF CLUB SEASON:
1. How long is the season for Club Volleyball? */A: The actual practices
for 12U-14U start after Nov 13th adn continue up through regionals on
April 1 & 2. High School girls start practice in December./*
2. How many practice are there per week? */A: We will normally have 2
scheduled practices per week: Thursday night and Sunday afternoons. During
Jan, Feb, and March our start and end times may vary due to gym
availability and school activities. A full schedule will be provided at
around November 25th.
3. How much are the dues? */A: $250 for 6th Grade. $325 for 13U. $350 for 14U and 16U. $550 for 17HP. Dues of 1/3 were to be paid by Sunday, November 18th. 2nd installment due December 18th. Final installment due January 13th.
4. Is the uniform an additional cost? */A: No. Both topsare covered by dues. Each girl will need to purchase knee pads,
shoes (no specific required, however, Prairie has banned Shocks for volleyball players), and socks./*
5. Are there other expenses not covered? */A: Yes. The cost of gas to
get to and from the tournaments. Food during the tournaments. Hotel stay
if participate in an overnight. And optional clothing. Regionals are in
Des Moines and could be a two night stay./*
6. Are there any discounts to dues? */A: No. However, we are looking for
a volunteer to be our Club Fundraising Coordinator & Chairperson to help
those who are interested in fundraising to defray their costs./*
7. Who is coaching? */A: A list of coaches will be provided on your team directory.
8. How are the teams chosen? */A: There are no tryouts for under age 14. Players are
placed by age. The maximum number on one team is usually 10 girls. If we
have two teams or more in an age group: Coaches want to make certain to match up
players level of experience so that girls with less experience do not
become frustrated and those with more experience are challenged. They
would practice together and all girls would receive the same level of
instruction and attention from their coaches/*.
9. Is transportation provided to the tournaments? */A: No. Players are
responsible to get to the tournament on their own. Tournaments are
decided by coaches. Each team usually plays 8 tournaments. Tournaments
start in January and are usually held on Saturday and Sundays. Either
full or 1/2 days. Most of the tournaments are held within Iowa; and are
close,however; a team can choose to go to a two day tournament out of
state. It is up to the team and coaches./*
10. Is there an admission charge to attend the tournaments? */A:
Generally, no. Regionals will probably have an admisssion. /*
11. I participate in AAU basketball or another club, can I still play
club volleyball? */A: The Club recognizes that players may be involved
in other activites. Attendance to practice and tournaments is important
for the success of the player and team. Attendance is generally at the
discretion of the coaches./*
12. My daughter does not have much experience. Will she get to play?
*/A: Equal pay does not mean equal play; however, she would receive the
same level of instruction and attention during practices from the
coaches, which would give her the opportunity she needs to improve her

14. I am in other sports and am not sure that I want to join yet. When
is the absolute deadline to join? */A: Girls who join right away will be
assigned to a team. If you join later and we have reached the maximum
number for that team, we may not be able to get you assigned to a team.
You do have until December 1st to join. The Club will take no further
applications after December 1st UNLESS we need more players to complete
